The course provides information about what project management is all about. It talks about the basic concepts, the PMI, the PMP, the PMBOK, the knowledge areas and processes. The inputs of various processes, their tools and techniques and the outputs obtained from each process.
This is a basic course that enables students to know the fundamentals of Project Management. The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of what is a project and what are the various factors that contribute towards making a project. Cases and experiences of different organizations and of different people are discussed that puts students on a launching pad and prepare them for more, in-depth study of the different aspects of projects.
After this course, the students should be well aware of all the terms of a project and should also be well conversant about the tools and techniques required in the project management. The students should be capable to select the elective courses that they will have to choose in the forth coming semesters.
